Qatar Airways (QR) have embarked on an exciting transformation journey to change how we interact with our customers. As part of this journey, we are now recruiting for the role of Senior Cargo Agent.
Based in Miami you will be responsible for providing assistance in generating maximum cargo sales in order to meet or exceed the set revenue/tonnage target for stations and to provide customer service in sales and operational areas liaising with GHA at stations and HDQ.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
ACCOUNTABILITIES: Operational
Assist to generate maximum cargo sales to meet /exceed annual set revenue/tonnage targets by visiting cargo agents, telesales and by promotional activities
Assist customers/clients with all information related to booking/forwarding/delivery liaising with local Ground Handling Agents and with Head Office Cargo department to ensure a satisfactory service provided by QR
Distribute QR promotional items, circulars, memos and announcements to the agents/freight forwarders to provide information on QR products & service
Arrange and deliver necessary cargo stationeries, forms and labels to GHA and appointed sales agents to have smooth handling and comply with regulations
Maintain a close coordination between QR Space Control and customers by ensuring their shipments are transferred, delivered on time and maximum priority is given to shipments.
Prepare the Monthly Marketing Report for sales achieved at stations and hand over to the responsible person so as to capture information and to monitor the set sales/revenue target for the year.
Co-ordinate with customers/Cargo Claims Supervisor at Head Office and forward all necessary claim documents, handle discrepancies at stations and administrative issues related to stations.
Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
Management & Leadership
Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
Train and develop other employees, to ensure succession planning is in place.
Ensure that any personal data obtained and processed is treated in accordance with data protection principles followed by the Group, as well as applicable Group policies and Procedures on data protection and information security.
Consult the Group’s Data Protection Officer (DPO) office prior to making decisions on the processing, storage, retention and deletion of professional data with regards to responding to Subject Access Requests (SARs), conducting Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIAs) and identifying any personal data breach, if there is no policy or procedure that provides adequate guidance.
Job Requirements
High School Qualification
Experienced - minimum 4 years of job-related experience OR
Vocational/Diploma or Associate Degree or equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on role)
Experienced - minimum 3 years of job-related experience
Computer Literate and good Communication Skills.
Knowledge of IATA/TACT Regulations Preferred
Knowledge in Cargo Sales will be an added advantage
