The Marketing and Loyalty department develop and innovative new products and services for our customers and ensures that our global brand is connecting people and uniting the world.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
The Marketing and Loyalty department has a number of exciting intern opportunities for summer 2022. Interns will be placed in the following areas:
Brand Strategy & Activation – This team develops the strategy for how United looks and feels as a brand across all customer communication channels and physical environments for both employee and customer facing spaces
Program and Member Benefits – The focus of this area is to increase members’ spend on United and to enhance the experience and engagement of members through benefits. This area also drives member engagement by offering a competitive set of airline reward options
Onboard Product—The soft product team supports design and development of new product rollouts and customer activations for customer onboard amenities. Additionally the duties will include research and analyzing comparative landscape across other airlines.
Onboard Product Development and Design (Aircraft) – This area supports aircraft interior product development and design initiatives across the fleet, including inflight entertainment. The team identifies new opportunities through competitive benchmarking, customer data and market research
Portfolio Member Management – This area of the business is to acquire, activate and retain members through multi-channel communication campaigns, strategic lifecycle management and retention initiatives that drive loyalty in terms of earning and using miles and promotional marketing
Marketing Research & Insights – This team supports the marketing activities and tracks performance of United’s brand, products and communication channels through qualitative and quantitative research and analysis
Job Requirements
Applicant must be a current undergraduate student graduating in Winter or Spring/Summer
Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Engineering Design, Economics, Industrial Engineering or a related field
Highly organized and self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and ensure attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; must be comfortable talking to and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders
Confident performing data analysis to arrive at insights and develop recommendations
Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Position is based in Chicago, IL – must be able to relocate for internship duration
Start dates in May or June
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now and in the future
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
