    Loan Officer, AA Credit Union Lending Solutions

    ​This job is a member of the Credit Union Team, within the American Airlines Credit Union. ​Responsible for working directly with American Airlines Credit Union members to make the lending experience the best it can be.

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:


    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Answers a high volume of calls in the Phone Loan Department

    • Processes new loan applications, which includes interviewing the member, analyzing credit reports and documentation and offering the best product to meet member needs

    • Exercises lending authority to correctly handle all loan requests, including but not limited to consumer loans

    • Creates and promotes positive name recognition for the Credit Union

    • Works with branch/department managers and staff to identify and leverage cross-selling opportunities

    • Researches member inquiries and providing solutions as required in a timely manner

    • Implements and enforces internal control and security measures in accordance with Credit Union policies and government regulations

    • Fosters a culture that promotes teamwork, service excellence and relationship building

    • Handles the responsibilities of a Loan Processor as needed

    • May work in a rotating Saturday schedule

    • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance

    • Performs other duties as assigned

    • Ensures the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act


    Job Requirements

    • ​High School diploma or GED equivalent

    • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software

    • Ability to exercise excellent member and customer service skills

    • Skilled in above-average professional telephone skills

    • Knowledge of Synapsys, LINK and Episys systems and understanding of pay stubs, tax returns, purchase orders for vehicles, and credit reports

    • Ability to perform in a fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks and function as an integral part of a team

    • Ability to interact professionally with all employees and members

    • Ability to demonstrate above average interpersonal and communication skills

    • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish is a plus

    • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

    • Skilled in mathematics and analytical ability

    • Ability to self-motivate with strong organization skills and capacity for attention to detail

    • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines

    • Ability to sit for extended periods of time

    • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks

    • Must have an acceptable credit history, will be verified

    • Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related area, or equivalent financial services experience

    • Lending experience in a credit union, bank or finance company

    • Experience in a sales-culture environment
