Customer & Baggage Services Intern
The Ground Operations (GO) department is looking for a Customer and Baggage Services Analyst Intern to help them with their daily functions including the analysis of existing GO processes, developing ideas to improve processes and leading tests in GO Stations. Intern candidates for this position need to possess strong communications skills, strong analytical skills and experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Join Southwest as a Spring Intern, with a 12-week internship lasting from January 31 through April 21.
Work fully remotely, with opportunities to connect with your Team and other workgroups virtually and potential to travel to visit our Dallas, TX Headquarters.
Dedicate a minimum of 24 hours each week to your internship responsibilities and tasks, up to 40 hours a week. We recommend checking your Spring schedule now to ensure availability.
Receive an hourly pay of $22 and receive a one-time $500 stipend on your first paycheck.

Interns will receive any required equipment, such as a laptop, for the internship.
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
Research and document process flows
Project Management
Change Management
Design, Test, and Model processes
Create a proof of concept for process changes
Lead a proof of concept
Make Recommendations to Leadership based on proof of concept
Build spreadsheets, enter and analyze information
Perform a variety of special job functions as requested by Leadership
Job Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
You must have a valid U.S. Social Security Number to complete the full hiring process.
Progress towards degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Aviation related field.
Minimum sophomore status. May not have an undergraduate graduation date of December 2022 or prior, unless already enrolled in a full-time graduate degree program at time of application.
To be eligible you must be currently enrolled as a full-time student as defined by your university at the time of application.
Minimum 2.5 or above cumulative GPA at the time of application
Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Change Management experience is preferred.
Process Measurement/Improvement Experience is a preferred (e.g., Six Sigma)
Ability to work independently and the willingness to function as a part of a team.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Analytical thinking/reasoning skills.
Problem solving skills.
Ability to manage time and multiple tasks effectively.
