Sales Development Representative Intern
The Direct Sales Team leads direct selling strategy and tactics for Southwest Business. This Team acquires, manages, and grows corporate travel portfolios as well as assesses opportunities, evaluates account performance, and provides data insights to account managers.
Join Southwest as a Spring Intern, with a 12-week internship lasting from January 31 through April 21.
Work fully remotely, with opportunities to connect with your Team and other workgroups virtually and potential to travel to visit our Dallas, TX Headquarters.
Dedicate a minimum of 24 hours each week to your internship responsibilities and tasks, up to 40 hours a week. We recommend checking your Spring schedule now to ensure availability.
Receive an hourly pay of $22 and receive a one-time $500 stipend on your first paycheck.

Interns will receive any required equipment, such as a laptop, for the internship.
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
Prospect and qualify inbound and outbound leads through cold calling and email campaigns, engages Customers and builds rapport in a professional manner
Schedules appointments and maintains relationships with qualified leads for account manager.
Completes timely and accurate documentation of all sales activities in Salesforce
Meets or exceeds weekly/monthly lead generation goals
Provide Customer Support to Southwest Business Team and Customers by responding to and managing sales inquiries.
Participate in ad hoc sales projects, promotions, and planning.
Negotiates and implements corporate agreements, including Rapid Rewards Business and the Meetings program.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
You must have a valid U.S. Social Security Number to complete the full hiring process.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Progress towards a degree in Professional Sales, Marketing, Business, Hospitality or similar degree required.
Sales Classes or a part of a collegiate Sales program preferred
Minimum Sophomore status. May not have an undergraduate graduation date of December 2022 or prior, unless already enrolled in a full-time graduate degree program at time of application.
To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full-time student as defined by your university at the time of application.
Maintained 2.5 or above cumulative GPA.
Cold calling, sales role play, customer engagement and prospecting preferred.
Sales experience/interest is preferred.
Previous Internship in similar fields including sales, marketing or general business preferred.
Previous Customer Support experience preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite functions required.
Experience using Salesforce preferred.
Basic knowledge of Southwest Business products preferred.
Familiarity with online travel sites (agencies and corporate booking tools) preferred.

Ability to engage in lead generation tactics, including prospecting and qualifying new Customers via phone and email.
Professional written and verbal communication skills, and ability to speak publicly before an audience.
Ability to work independently and the willingness to function as a part of a team.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and complete assignments with tight deadlines.
Must be detail oriented and able to work with a sense of urgency.
Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
Ability to identify areas of opportunity, create a plan for improvement, and implement.
