Job Description
Qatar Airways is offering an exciting opportunity for an Airport Services Duty Officer to join their Ground Services team in Edinburgh. The role involves overall control of the shift, monitoring activities, and ensuring punctuality and safety in all Qatar Airways operations. The individual is responsible for liaisoning between airport service providers and users, providing input and recommendations, ensuring passenger and aircraft handling practices comply with safety and security standards, managing manpower, conducting spot-checks, resolving customer problems and complaints, conducting briefing sessions for shift and GHA supervisors, and compiling station handling reports for the Airport Duty Manager. They also manage petty case expenses, petty cash custodianship, and prepare monthly reports and LPCs. The individual also performs other departmental duties, such as performing Aircraft Turnaround Check (ATC) duties and operating aircraft cabin service doors from outside to reduce safety risks
Job Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree is required, with 4 years of relevant experience in an airline or reputable GHA. Strong English language communication, weight and balance, ramp handling, and Dangerous Goods Regulation knowledge are essential. High-level computer literacy is required, and understanding of Qatar Airways Conditions of Carriage, International Civil Aviation Safety and Security procedures, and local authorities is crucial.
