Job Description
As a Seasonal Ready Reserve Cargo Customer Service Agent, you serve as the face of Delta Cargo. In this role, you will communicate directly with the customer both face to face and over the telephone, and will be expected to utilize various cargo and system computer programs used to book, accept and track cargo along with other relative cargo operational applications. You practice safety-conscious behaviors in all customer service and operational processes while performing under time constraints. Seasonal Ready Reserve Cargo Agents work between 150 and 1,400 hours per year.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Prepare and process shipping documentation, both domestic and international, as needed to meet industry, company and government requirements.
Work and cooperate with various government agencies to include the FAA, TSA, US Customs the USPS and the USDA.
Lift, load, unload and transport cargo and mail to and from the aircraft.
Operate ground support equipment such as tugs, forklifts and tow tractors.
Job Requirements
Pass the PAT (Physical Ability Test)
Have a valid driver's license
Pass all government background checks
Successfully complete relevant training classes
Ability to effectively converse with cargo customers in a direct customer service environment
Ability to comprehend detailed job instructions
Ability to perform assigned duties accurately and efficiently within given time constraints
Ability to routinely lift at least 70 pounds
Be willing to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
Previous cargo and warehouse operations experience is preferred.
Typing/computer skills are strongly preferred.
