    ​This job is a member of the Cargo Team within the Customer Experience Division. Responsible for heavy outbound phone solicitation with a pro-active approach to generating and securing new revenue generation for the Eastern Region, and Cargo Division. Individual will be also be responsible for a number of accounts to develop and ability to grow new business as well as sales support for Outside Sales Managers. This position is an inside sales position for development into outside sales.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

    • Maintains daily contact with accounts that require follow up support

    • Assists with on-site sales calls with local sales reps to develop face to face selling skills

    • Responds quickly to customer requests for quotes, rates, and special projects from Account and/or Regional Manager

    • Evaluates options, resolves internal priorities and funnels new business leads with accurate lead insights, revenue potential estimates and recommendations

    • Utilizes selling skills and product knowledge to solicit business from potential shippers by phone to maximize sales productivity

    • Pulls daily, weekly, monthly account information and have ability to review the information to assist in proactive selling and to create strategic sales generation reports

    • Works close in a team environment and assist Account Managers with sales call preparation and follow up

    • Works closely with all areas within the Cargo Division to secure new opportunities and maintain existing business from Global, Key, and local customers

    • Represents American Airlines at various functions and events thru out the EMCLA Division

    • Travel will be required as part of this position


    Job Requirements

    • ​High School diploma or GED Equivalency

    • Knowledge of AA Cargo products and services and be proficient in telephone sales

    • Knowledge of cargo and selling techniques helpful, strong interpersonal and organization skills required

    • Strong professional work ethics

    • Ability to work closely in a team environment, self-starter, highly- motivated and creative thinking individual

    • Analytical and organization skills

    • Possess the ability to effectively work with all levels of personal and management

    • Preferred Qualifications

    • ​​Possess a professional, interpersonal and positive selling technique

    • Knowledge of AA Cargo products and services

    • Native iCargo System knowledge preferable

    • College degree
