In the Paralegal job, the candidate will support the Corporate Real Estate group within the Delta Law Department with respect to a broad range of legal issues handled by the Corporate Real Estate Group: on-airport and off-airport leases and related certificates and documents required by airport operators; project finance; design & construction contracts, claims and disputes (including lien related issues); business licenses; sale and management of owned real estate; and general support for legal issues arising out of federal airport law (rates/charges, revenue diversion, PFCs, airport incentives and various other federal airport law related issues/disputes) and construction law. The successful candidate will be part of a team of legal professionals with a mission to deliver top-quality and cost-conscious legal solutions to business issues, while leveraging technology to increase efficiency.
This position is based at Delta's General Offices in Atlanta. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and a quick study with a proven track record of working directly with attorneys as a real estate, project finance or construction paralegal and has demonstrated experience related to real estate, finance, general corporate or design and construction issues. The candidate must possess good judgment and a strong ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Quickly establish credibility, gaining respect and trust from in-house attorneys and peers, as well as inside and outside business partners
Juggle numerous different projects at one time, while reprioritizing quickly and efficiently and managing projects to completion, with awareness of critical deadlines

Primary Functions:
Assist attorneys with a variety of real estate, construction and project finance transactions including airport and off-airport leases, bond financings, design & construction contracts, property sales, and other transactions
Coordinate with relevant Delta teams, including other groups within the Law Department, Corporate Real Estate (our primary business partner), as well as other teams, including Finance (bond financings and other matters), Government Affairs, Sky Club, ACS, Corporate Security, IT, and Supply Chain
Assist in maintaining and updating the suite of design and construction contracts utilized by Corporate Real Estate
With attorney supervision, assist in reviewing, assessing and drafting comments to construction contracts, lease amendments and other documents, where appropriate
With attorney supervision, assist in drafting notice and other letters sent pursuant to Delta’s leases and/or design and construction contracts
Draft certificates and resolutions and obtain executed closing documents for financings
Coordinate group meetings and schedules and manage overall workflow from CRE, including working with CRE’s contract analysts to manage workflow pipeline and deadlines
Support pre-litigation fact investigation and legal responses to design and construction claims and disputes, including coordinating workflow and response deadlines with the commercial teams on the LGA and LAX airport redevelopment programs
Identify opportunities to improve business processes and devise plans to implement these changes
Work with Enterprise Records and Information Management (“ERIM”) on the organization and filing of lease and project finance documents
Oversee the migration and consolidation of all documents generated by the CRE legal team into a centralized database.

Job Requirements
High School diploma, GED or High School Equivalency
At least 5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
Demonstrate a solid understanding of legal terminology
Must be able to uphold highest standards of discretion and confidentiality
Detail oriented, with an excellent commitment to follow through and accuracy
Exceptional organizational skills
Excellent response time and deadline management skills
Ability to work quickly and competently to prioritize, manage, and multi-task in a fast paced working environment
Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles
Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority
Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred
Airline industry experience at a corporate level is a plus, but not required
Experience in an in-house legal department is a plus
