Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
To carry out aerodrome safety inspections to ensure continued serviceability and safety in line with the Airports Safety Management System, Statutory and Company requirements.
To carry out runway friction assessment surveys
To lead and promote the airfield safety culture interacting with stakeholders through daily operations and operational meetings.
Investigate and compile reports for safety and performance monitoring, including airside accidents/incidents, daily operations reports, aircraft turnaround audits
To review/audit Airfield Operations documentation including departmental risk assessments.
To issue Temporary Operating Instructions (TOI’s) for temporary changes to published operational requirements when required.
To issue Airfield Safety Notices (ASN) to promote and highlight safety-related issues which may affect the safe operation within the airfield environment.
To operate all equipment and machinery associated with daily and seasonal operations as and when required, including FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control equipment, Snow clearing and wildlife control equipment.
To carry out escorting duties and provide marshal guidance for aircraft when required in line with operational requirements
To facilitate and control airfield works in progress and to ensure works areas are safeguarded at all times and operations can continue safely.
Control, monitor and report temporary local obstacles ensuring no degradation in airfield safety standards (aerodrome safeguarding)
To deliver the Airside Driver training to all aerodrome users and to issue, regulate and audit all Airside Vehicle Permits and temporary permits.
To monitor and input flight information into the Airports flight management system and resource management system for stand planning / allocation.
Job Requirements
Full UK driving licence
You must have worked in a highly regulated environment
Previous experience of working within an airport environment would be an advantage
You will need to develop and demonstrate a working knowledge of airside operations
Technical competencies to be attained including National Certificate in Airside Operations (NCAO)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to instruct and follow procedures are essential
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and confidence to deliver presentations
Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders is essential
Be a good team player with enthusiastic attitude
Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload
Right to work in the UK
Criminal Records Check and five years’ worth of referenceable checks are also essential.
Able to work shifts covering 24/7 on a rota basis (42 hours per week)
