Job Description
As a Cargo Cupervisor, you will be accountable to ensure a wide range of Cargo operations are handled smoothly and effectively. Defined as main point of contact for all Etihad Cargo related matters with direct responsibility for cargo warehouse operation and freighter ramp supervision at the appointed station(s).
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Supervise airport resources and equipment utilization to ensure the efficient and timely execution of operations according with working instructions, safety procedures and policies
Coordinate, control and supervise handling and operations to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards
Provide to the team clear operating instructions to ensure activities are timely executed in compliance with regulations and procedures
Manage, coordinate and monitor timeliness and accuracy of Cargo operations to ensure alignment with KPIs and external / internal regulations
Monitor and coordinate turnaround operations to improve the On Time Performance of the station and ensure compliance with regulations
Monitor and overview extraordinary loading operations, to ensure execution is compliant with regulations and carriers procedures
Conduct briefing and de-briefing sessions on assigned activities to identify and provide advice on areas of improvement
Interface with the Airport Authorities i.e. Customs, Police and Airport Operator to gain support in the implementation of EY initiatives
Responsible to drive and improve freighter OTP in a highly challenging environment of the appointed station(s) by fulfilling all tasks associated to ramp coordination / supervision of freighter operations.
Lead and establish best practices to ensure all flights are maximized to their capacity and conduct review of processes and procedures for improvement of service delivery such as reduction in UTLs, operational discrepancies and offloads.
Ensure compliance with all Etihad procedures and regulatory requirements in relation to safety, security and Dangerous Goods.
Provide on job training, coaching and advice to GHA staff to upgrade their skills, knowledge and confidence level.
Must be able to execute ad-hoc tasks required at other EY Network stations to support various expectations and initiatives.
Responsible for service delivery of the designated station(s) through SGHA/SLA’s and KPI/Cargo IQ measurement.
Being flexible with operations shift requirement (including weekends) and able to work in all positions below the title position which means cross skill functionality is a prerequisite with focus on continuous development of competency level.
Responsible to conduct regular inspections and audits on the facility(s) to ensure work progress and services/SOP’s complies with all regulatory requirements including Health, Security and Safety (under SMS guidelines) and enforcement of EY processes and procedures.
Operates between cargo warehouse / freighter ramp (50%) and office (50%) environment with constant pressure to deliver within reduced lead times.
Job Requirements
Minimum High School certification, Ramp/Freighter Handling Courses, basic knowledge of Dangerous Goods and of weight and balance principles and general cargo procedures
Fully conversant with cargo handling processes, procedures and regulatory compliance expectations
Extensive experience of Cargo operations is required.
Supervising Freighter operations.
Experience in managing Third party providers and monitoring KPIs and SLAs
Willingness to Travel as required and to work on Shift to cover the Operations.
Good understanding of computer airfreight specifications, In depth knowledge of industry standards and Legal Regulations, Industry training in DG/AVI/ Cargo Operations/Security/weight and balance (advantage)
