    This position is part of the Leisure Sales Team within the Customer Division. Responsible for acting as the voice of the customer for our cruise partners and travel advisor community.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

    • Understand the Passenger Sales Organization’s objectives. Assess each customer request with the goal in mind of balancing American’s goals with the customer values and needs of the business.

    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers, including operational airport teams, community organizations, cruise partners, customers and vendors.

    • Provide expertise in AA products and services. Communicate in a compelling way and provide proof of value to the customer; in writing, in-person and phone/web-based mediums.

    • Defines a concise service plan, anticipate customer needs and prepare for customer objections.Develop supporting materials to achieve service call objectives and positive outcome and communicate results and follow-up actions with Manager- Global Cruise Partnerships.

    • Effectively negotiate with each customer to provide value-based service delivery and the appropriate level of service on the merit of each situation.

    • Prepare presentations for leadership and customers to showcase AA performance and trends.

    • Collaborate to improve team and individual performance, drive synergies and create efficiencies.Support cross-functional working groups to incorporate Sales insights into the broader company strategy.

    • Develop self, achieve results and find creative ways to problem solving. Prioritize time on the right opportunities to maximize results.

    • Analyze trends and create ad-hoc analysis to support Manager- Global Cruise Partnerships.

    • Develops and expands the account base receiving specialty net programs within the leisure channel.

    • Identifies AA business opportunities making sure programs are in place to capture and deliver business for AA and Joint Business partners.

    • Communicates upward for potential sales initiative actions and prepares correspondence, proposals and presentation to support sales activities.

    • Collaborates with AA International colleagues on marketplace trends and competitive intelligence, executes appropriate sales strategies and aligns with key interdepartmental stakeholders (such as Revenue Management, Agency Programs, Network Planning, AAdvantage and Marketing) to gain AA’s fair share of cruise revenue leading to route success and strong account performance.

    • Uses specific Leisure performance reports and a broad range of programs within the Strategic Leisure purview to affect business performance in cruise vertical.

    • Maintains account profile information, sales initiatives and strategies in AA’s CRM tool, Sales Hub, and uses planning tools such as account and call planners.

    • Must be willing to travel frequently for business as needed.


    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training

    • 3 years successful B2B sales experience and/or industry experience

    • Knowledge of key airline metrics (e.g. RASM; Market Share; Load Factor) and how sales efforts contribute to airline profitability

    • Must be a highly organized self-starter with the ability to prioritize and perform within a deadline structured environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously

    • Strong attention to detail is essential

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

    • Solid analytical and problem-solving experience (ability to prepare and analyze reports)

    • Must be enthusiastic and able to interact in a professional manner with all departments within the airline, divisional leadership and with external partners, customers and vendors

    • Knowledge and demonstrated execution of value-based selling competencies

    • Ability to articulate propositions to executives

    • Ability to work collaboratively with interdepartmental stakeholders

    • Highly developed interpersonal as well as organizational skills

    • Strong sales acumen and account planning

    • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills

    • Ability to work in a team environment

    • Ability to manage workload and manage time in a strategic way

    • Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficiency in Sabre

    • Analytical experience

    • Commercial acumen with previous experience in Sales, RM, Sales Planning, Network Planning, Alliances, AAdvantage, Marketing, Cargo and/or Customer Planning
