Job Description
We are looking for a Copywriter to join our in-house creative team. This person will work collaboratively with business partners, marketing channel owners and the creative team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to craft compelling copy that clearly exemplifies our brand tone and core values. The ideal candidate will be organized, collaborative and creative with a mind for problem solving. He/she will be tasked in writing both succinct ad-like copy and long-form storytelling content, as well as conceptual ideation for campaign-driven initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Provide strategic direction, headlines, and conceptual content for a wide variety of digital deliverables including website experiences, paid and organic social, emails, long-form blog posts and other various articles that are on brief
Ensure consistent brand tone and voice across our marketing channels
Partner with designers on concepting and execution on a multitude of creative deliverables
Provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables, which includes proofing all layouts and copy to ensure that work is aligned with our brand identity and that proper grammar/spelling is used
Contribute and champion unique ideas for marketing initiatives with a strong ability to ‘sell’ and influence the underlying strategy and direction
Complete work on-time and on-budget; deliver assignments as directed
Collaborate closely with project managers, IT, merchants, vendors, marketing, product/business owners and contractors to obtain all relevant information, technical requirements and timelines for projects
Stay up-to-date with industry developments, marketing trends, current (and emerging) social media platforms and other technology tools
Utilizing data and insights to iterate and improve on copy effectiveness
Inspire your fellow coworkers and embrace challenges and new ways of thinking
Assist with writing/editing applicable corporate communications and other duties, as assigned
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
3+ years copywriting for web and digital media
Compelling portfolio of work that demonstrates high quality copywriting and editing within a variety of campaigns and projects
Effective communication skills, both written and presentation
Experience in Ecommerce, email marketing or related areas
Superb time management skills with the ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, often under pressure
The keen ability to take direction and effectively work both collaboratively and autonomously
Ability to graciously pivot and react quickly when faced with unexpected schedule changes and fluctuations in workload
Interest and curiosity in authentic Hawaiian culture
Experience working with/for a traditional advertising or in-house creative agency environment
Experience with email platforms (EMP) and content management systems (CMS)
Familiarity with SEO
Experience writing organic social copy
Japanese and/or Hawaiian language skills a plus
Design experience a plus
