Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Cargo Coordinator and in collaboration with other cargo agents, the Cargo Agent will perform import and export tasks, in accordance with the company’s service standards and procedures and in compliance with safety and security regulations. .
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
Handle administrative tasks related to the cargo activity (documentation, research, filing and archiving various files, cargo manuals, preparing manifests, answering phone calls)
Issue transport documents (transshipment manifests)
Issue customs documents (manifests, central customs office, warehouse, transit, etc.)
Draft and send teletypes (SITA) and telexes
Prepare loading order slips according to the company’s rules
Prepare, for the cargo warehouse employees, the list of loads to be grouped on pallets or in containers
Communicate and cooperate with load control offices (local and regional) and possibly with cargo movement control in Toronto
Follow up on and verify the information transmitted to customs (ACI and ICS)
Oversee relations with customers, service providers and subcontractors, as part of the daily cargo activity
Control and follow up on the smooth running of cargo activities by the handling company and the various participants
Verify and control shipments sent by agents, consolidators, other companies, etc. Indicate irregularities on documents to protect the company’s interests
Report to coordinators on the progress of the day’s cargo activities to ensure follow-up on the files in progress

At least a bachelor’s degree in logistics/transportation
Significant cargo experience, preferably with an airline
Hold the “Hazardous Material Specialist” designation
Good oral, reading, writing French and English skills
Wearing of the uniform according to the company’s rules
Class 3 driver’s licence without restriction
Proficient in Word and Excel and conducting web searches
Knowledge of Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport is preferred
Obtaining an access card from the police for the restricted area is imperative
