Delta's Customer Service Agents play a crucial role in ensuring customers' travel experience is smooth and pleasant. They guide and assist customers with the ticketing and baggage check-in process, using computers to sell, print, and reissue tickets, managing the check-in process, and ensuring proper travel documentation. They also handle lifting tasks and handle items as low as floor level and as high as waist level. As a Gate Agent, they assist customers with routing, trip planning, and gate boarding, using computers to assist with seat availability, making gate announcements, checking and handling baggage, managing and initiating the boarding process, and operating jet ways. These agents maintain professionalism and a positive attitude, ensuring Delta's continued success. The starting pay is $16.55 per hour, with additional pay increases regularly through 10.5 years.
Job Requirements
Minimum qualifications for this position include a High School diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency, at least 18 years of age, proficiency in English, strong verbal and written communication skills, basic computer skills, and successful Customer Service Assessment. The ideal candidate should be able to lift bags or items weighing up to 50 pounds, be willing to work a fixed or rotating schedule, pass a post-offer pre-employment drug test, physical ability test (PAT), and pass an extensive post-offer pre-employment background check. The ideal candidate should also be authorized to work in the US.
