Job Description
As a Customer Service Agent at Delta, you will be responsible for demonstrating Delta's commitment to customers by making their travel experience as smooth and pleasant as possible. The starting pay is $16.55 per hour and additional pay increases occur regularly through 10.5 years. Additionally, you may be responsible for escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport. This position requires standing for long periods of time.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Customer Service Agents serving as Ticket Agents are the first to greet customers and assist them with the ticketing and baggage check-in process. They use computers to sell, print, and reissue tickets, manage the check-in process, tag baggage, and perform lifting tasks. They also help customers with routing, trip planning, and gate boarding. They use computers to assist customers with seat availability, make gate announcements, check and handle baggage, manage, and initiate the boarding process, operate jet ways, lift, opening, closing, and securing aircraft doors, and practice safety-conscious behaviors.
Job Requirements
The minimum qualifications for a successful candidate include a High School diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency, at least 18 years of age, proficiency in English, strong verbal and written communication skills, basic computer skills, Customer Service Assessment, lifting bags or items weighing up to and including 50 pounds, willingness to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule, passing a post-offer pre-employment drug test, physical ability test, and an extensive post-offer pre-employment background check. Additionally, the candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
