    Job Description

    Emirates is hiring an Airport Services Officer in Colombo, Sri Lanka to ensure a safe, efficient, cost-effective, and timely airport operation. The role will involve planning, organizing, and controlling all aspects of the operation, including coordination with internal and external departments, to ensure customers receive a high level of service. The role will also involve managing and supervising staff on duty, ensuring the relevant areas of the operation are fully covered, and taking responsibility for running the station during the absence of the Airport Services Manager.

    The job entails analyzing anticipated operational problems, ensuring that Handling Agents, caterers, and other service providers are fully briefed on Emirates' requirements for the day operation, and controlling expenditure on baggage replacement and lost baggage claims. The Airport Services Manager will assist in preparing and maintaining staff duty rosters and annual leave plans, ensuring staffing levels are optimized.

    The role will also involve attending meetings and representing Emirates interests and requirements. The Airport Services Manager will assist the ASM in Employee Regulation Programme and conducting staff performance reviews in line with Performance Matters. The role will also manage operational activities on a shift basis, ensuring proper control of processes related to document and information consolidation.

    The Airport Services Officer will undertake projects to improve efficiency and quality of service delivered at the station, as advised by the Airport Services Manager. They will also assist the ASM in ERP (Emergency Response Planning) and other related tasks. The role will also ensure that Passenger Service and Ground Operations Manual updates are communicated and adhered to internally and by relevant service providers.

    Job Requirements

    The Airport Operations Manager position requires a minimum A' Level or equivalent and professional training in Customer Services and Ground Operations. Experience in airport customer handling is required, including at least 3 years in supervisory roles. Knowledge of reservations, flights, ticketing, departure control systems, dangerous goods regulations, baggage tracing, and claims handling is essential. Fluency in English and local languages is required. The ideal candidate must be able to live and work in Sri Lanka.
