A Day in the Life of an Envoy Air Flight Attendant
As the face of Envoy Air, you'll be the heart of our passengers' travel experience. Your primary role is to ensure everyone's safety, but you'll also be the reason they step off our plane with a smile. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing a Warm Welcome: Greeting passengers with genuine warmth and directing them to their seats, setting a positive tone for their journey.
- Ensuring Safety with Confidence: Conducting pre-flight safety demonstrations, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and calmly managing any in-flight emergencies, including leading evacuations if necessary.
- Caring for Passengers: Assisting travelers of all kinds, from unaccompanied minors to individuals with special needs, with patience and empathy.
- Maintaining Composure: Professionally de-escalating challenging situations and providing clear, reassuring communication during operational changes or delays.
- Being Prepared for Anything: Adapting to a dynamic environment with changing schedules, weather, and aircraft types, all while contributing to our collective goal of on-time performance.
Who We're Looking For?
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
- Height between 5'0" and 6'0" (without shoes) and ability to fit into all required safety equipment without modification
- A valid, unexpired U.S. passport or the legal right to work in the U.S. and travel unrestricted to all countries served by Envoy
- A valid REAL ID-compliant driver's license or passport
- Ability to fluently speak, read, write, and understand English
- Capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, and twisting in confined spaces (like our aircraft galleys!)
- Willingness to work a highly flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and multi-day trips
- A professional, well-groomed appearance that complies with our uniform standards, including no visible tattoos or body piercings (except single ear piercings)
Ideal Candidates Also Have
- 1+ years of experience in hospitality, retail, or any role with strong face-to-face customer interaction
- A college degree (great, but not required!)
- A calm, confident demeanor and a natural talent for making people feel safe and cared for
Important to Know Before You Apply
- Training: You must be willing and able to attend our comprehensive training program in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. Please note that portions of this training are unpaid.
- Relocation: Upon successful completion of training, you must be prepared to immediately relocate, at your own expense, to one of our crew bases: Chicago, IL (ORD); Dallas/Fort Worth, TX (DFW); Miami, FL (MIA); or Phoenix, AZ (PHX). Base assignments are awarded based on operational need and class seniority.
- Compensation: Wages and benefits are governed by the contract between Envoy Air and the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA).
