Description
As a Flight Operations Officer, you will oversee the authorization, regulation, and control of commercial airline flights, ensuring safety and efficiency. This includes analysing aircraft performance, enroute winds, storm forecasts, airspace restrictions, airport conditions, and NOTAMs. The officer will monitor flight progress and manage each flight to minimize issues affecting safety, on-time performance, and customer service. They must understand the impact of volcanic ash on operations and follow emergency procedures. They will plan company flights, assist the Duty Manager in irregular operations, disruptions, or projects as required by management.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have at least three years of experience in a Systems Operations Control Department or equivalent in a technical aviation environment. They must have a minimum of five CXC passes, including Math and English, and two years post-secondary education. A Certified Dispatch Licence or Pilots Licence is preferred. Knowledge of flight operations, navigational processes, aircraft performance limitations, safety management systems, and operational relationships with SOC is required. A valid TTCAA Flight Operations Authorization or FAA Dispatch License is an asset. Strong customer service orientation, multitasking, good judgement, problem-solving, decision-making skills, resilience, excellent written and oral communication, and analytical skills are also required.
