Description
The Payroll Officer will report to the Manager, Payroll. The selected candidate will process the overall Payroll Accounting function of the company, in accordance with international accounting standards. This role involves some level of problem-solving and Payroll reporting to the Finance Manager, and indirectly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Deliverables
- Customer Service Delivery: Ensures excellent internal customer service delivery, by ensuring that employees’ queries are addressed in a timely manner.
- Operational Effectiveness: Ensures that employee salary payments are processed in accordance with pre-established Payroll timelines (annual schedule). The incumbent will also ensure that all operational gaps are resolved with minimal disruption to salary payment schedules.
- Relationship Management: Builds and develops mutually beneficial relationships with external stakeholders, including the relevant statutory authorities in all jurisdictions.
- Safety and regulatory compliance: Adheres to corporate safety, security, and quality policies to ensure staff and suppliers are fully compliant with all regulatory requirements, operational and quality standards.
- People Management: Supports the manager in developing direct reports, through effective performance management, on the job training, and coaching employees.
Requirements
- You are required to have Level I of a Professional Accounting Qualification - ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CMA or any other equivalent combination of qualification and experience.
- You must also have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in an accounting environment with, in depth knowledge of the Payroll function (in a complex, international organization).
- You must possess a sound Knowledge of the Payroll system and working knowledge of Tax Laws, National Insurance Laws and Labour Legislation in all jurisdictions and general knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- You must have a sound working knowledge of Passenger Service Systems (PSS), Passenger Revenue Accounting (PRA), or computerized accounting package and a strong knowledge of ACH and ICH procedures.
- You must be Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular MS Word and MS Excel.
- Experience in a similar role, and an understanding of the Aviation business, as well as working knowledge of ADP, SAP, (HR and relevant finance models) would be an asset.
